Primitive Smoke BBQ

The focus of Primitive Smoke BBQ will be using the freshest ingredients made available by local producers and farmers while using All-Natural Meat. Our meats are never frozen and smoked every day for maximum quality. Our menu focus will be traditional Barbecue with our take on classic comfort side dishes. All sides, sauces and sandwiches will be made in house from scratch.

Growing up in Montana, Brandon Haynie always had the dream of opening a restaurant of his own. Brandon Haynie couples a degree from Le Cordon Bleu College in Culinary Arts. After 6 years of experience in the industry, he ventured on his own. He met Jermaine Spotwood, a graduate of San Diego Culinary Institute, while the two worked together at The Grand Del Mar Resort. Originally from Oklahoma, Jermaine has over 15 years of experience being the Sous Chef at some of San Diego’s finest establishments. After many discussions of what they thought would benefit San Diego, the two decided to bring there version of authentic BBQ.
